What Watches, Momentum, and Meaning Have in Common
At the heart of every mechanical watch lies a small, tightly wound coil of metal called the mainspring. It may not be visible from the outside, but it’s the driving force behind everything else. The mainspring stores potential energy—and when released, it powers the entire mechanism, setting every gear, hand, and complication into motion.
That image has always stuck with me.
When I launched Mainspring Coaching, I was drawn to the metaphor. Not because I’m obsessed with watches (though I do admire their craftsmanship), but because the idea of a hidden inner force that quietly powers everything else felt true to what I’ve seen in people over decades of work—as a psychologist, a coach, and someone who has navigated my own seasons of change.
We All Have a Mainspring
Each of us has a kind of mainspring inside—an inner drive, purpose, or value system that fuels our best decisions, our direction, and our energy. But over time, it can become overwound, ignored, or out of sync with how we’re living.
That’s when we start to feel stuck or off-balance—even when everything looks fine on the outside.
Coaching, at its best, helps you reconnect with that essential inner mechanism.
Coaching That Realigns You with What Matters
The work I do with clients is structured and strategic—but also deeply personal. We explore questions like:
– What’s driving me now—and is it still the right fuel?
– Where have I been out of alignment with my values, priorities, or energy?
– What needs to shift so I can move forward with clarity and momentum?
This process isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about reconnecting with who you already are—and moving forward from that foundation.
That’s the heart of emotional intelligence coaching and personal realignment.
When You Realign, Everything Else Starts Working Again
Whether you’re navigating a career pivot, reimagining your personal life, or stepping into a leadership role, the work begins the same way:
With clarity about what powers you.
And that’s why I named my business Mainspring Coaching.
Because when you return to your mainspring, you don’t just move forward—you move forward with purpose, rhythm, and energy.
